Baked French Fries

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 6 Yukon Gold potatoes, cut into thick fries
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder or more to taste
  • 1 tsp. onion powder or more to taste
  • 1 tsp. ground black pepper or more to taste

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Spray the pan with cooking spray.

Step 2

Place sliced potatoes in colander, sprinkle sugar over them. Set it aside until liquid is release from the potatoes, about 20-30 minutes. Drain liquid and dry potatoes well.

Step 3

Mix potato slices, olive oil, garlic powder, and black pepper in resealable bag until evenly coated and spread the coated potato slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space round each potato.

Step 4

Bake for 20 minutes. Flip fries and continue baking until crisp and browned.
