Tender Barbecue Brisket
Ingredients
• ½ cup honey
• 3 tablespoons soy sauce
• Seasoned salt – to taste
• 1 (5 pound) beef brisket
• 1 cup apple cider
• ¾ cup ketchup
• ¼ cup packed brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
• 2 teaspoons Seasoned salt, to taste
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder or to taste
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Season brisket all over with seasoned salt. Place in roasting pan. Pour apple juice over it. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Roast brisket in oven for 3 hours.
Step 2
Prepare grill for low heat. In small bowl stir together honey and soy sauce. Season with seasoned salt.
Step 3
When roast comes out of oven, place it on preheated grill. Grill for 30 minutes, turning frequently and basting with honey sauce.
Step 4
Meanwhile, in saucepan over low heat, make a barbeque sauce by combining ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, cider vinegar, seasoned salt, and garlic powder. Cook and stir over low heat for 15 minutes without allowing sauce to boil. If you boil sauce, it becomes very vinegary.
Step 5
Let brisket rest for about 10 minutes after it comes off the grill. Slice and serve with barbeque sauce.
