Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients
- 2 slices bread (white, wheat, or sourdough)
- 1 slice American cheese
- 1 slice Monterey Jack or Muenster cheese
- 2 teaspoons softened butter
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread butter onto one side of a piece of bread and place butter side down in the skillet.
Step 2
Place one piece of cheese on top of the bread, then top with the other slice of cheese.
Step 3
Butter the other slice of bread and place on top with the butter side up. Fry on each side until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula to ensure even toasting.
